Exploring the Heart Sutra

Meditation Workshop

  • Ended
  • 50 British pounds
  • 257 Harlestone Road

Service Description

The sutra of the heart of transcendent knowledge or the “heart sutra”, is one of the most famous Buddhist texts and yet, one of the most misunderstood. It is full of paradox and seeming contradiction, yet it holds the possibility of awakening in this very moment to the true nature of our being. During this meditation retreat day, we will chant the sutra together and explore its meaning. The day will include meditation, short talks, group discussion and exploration of the relevance of this teaching to our everyday lives. Suggested donation of £50, which includes lunch, but please give more if you can afford to enable those who can’t to pay less. To book your place please email info@deeperbeing.com or visit www.deeperbeing.com. Rachael has been meditating for over 25 years. She has an MSc. in Mindfulness and Compassion and is currently doing a PhD researching the effects of mindfulness for autistic people. She teaches both secular mindfulness and Buddhism within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. She is a BAMBA registered teacher and a trustee of the London Shambhala Meditation Centre. She offers classes, short courses, workshops and retreats in traditional sitting meditation, walking meditation, Buddhist philosophy and secular mindfulness practice. She also offers one-to-one spiritual advice, instruction and mentoring.
